Robert Moran began his employment with the City of Englewood, NJ in 1985. In his twenty one year career he has held the positions of Dispatcher, Firefighter, Lieutenant, Deputy Chief, and his current position of Chief of Department. Chief Moran holds a Bachelors Degree in Fire Science from New Jersey City University, a Leadership and Management Certificate from the Rutgers University School of Business, and is currently enrolled in a Master Degree program at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is state certified as a Level II Fire Instructor, Hazardous Material Specialist, Confined Space and Hazardous Material Awareness Instructor, IMS Level 200 Instructor, Arson Investigator, and Fire Official. He is a former President of the Bergen County Fire Chief's Association and Fire Instructor at the Bergen County Fire Academy. Currently he is a member of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Arson Task Force, the Bergen County Fire Academy Advisory Board, and the New Jersey Urban Search and Rescue Team. Chief Moran is also a 27 year member and former Chief of the Leonia Volunteer Fire Department where he currently serves as the Boroughs Fire Official. He has authored several articles in national fire service publications and also lectures on various firefighting topics at several state and national fire service conferences each year.
