The most enduring gift any person can give is knowledge - the tool you never lose and never wear out. In these especially difficult times with budgets being cut to the bone it's critical that firefighters continue to get the training to stay safe and ensure the safety of others. In that spirit True North has established a scholarship program that provides fire departments up to $3,000 each for classroom and hands-on training. The best part is that True North will bring the training to the scholarship recipient's fire station.
What is the True North Scholarship program?
- True North will provide funding to eligible Fire Departments, Fire Academies and Organized Fire Training Groups through a scholarship program in order to facilitate organized fire department training.
- True North will award 3 training scholarships per calendar year to eligible agencies that seek fire department, fire instructor or specialized team training.
- The maximum amount per scholarship is $3,000
Who conducts the training?
- On Scene Training Associates, LLC is the official fire training agency for True North. On Scene Training will provide qualified, experienced and specialized instructors for all approved scholarship training programs. On-Scene Training will provide individual certificates upon the completion of the training
- On Scene Training Associates, LLC is a New Jersey based company whose mission is to provide emergency responders with the most up-to-date and cutting edge training courses available. They do this through interactive classroom presentations as well as realistic hands-on training opportunities. All of their instructors carry state instructor credentials and many are nationally registered with Pro Boards and IFSAC.

Are there any other important details? We're not fans of fine print or lawyers, so we'll try to keep it simple.
- No purchase necessary. Simply, submit the scholarship application to apply.
- Only applications submitted on the approved application form are eligible for consideration.
- All eligible organizations can receive only one scholarship per calendar year.
- There is no requirement for applicants to provide matching funding.
- True North shall have sole discretion of determining eligibility for the program and for awarding all funding for the training requested.
- All applications need to be resubmitted annually and may be submitted at any time during the calendar year at this link
- Training will be scheduled directly with On Scene Training and the training fee, up to $3,000 per scholarship, will be paid directly to On Scene Training by True North. Any unused portion of the $3,000 scholarship will used for future scholarship programs.
